Foot Protection. While the Speedgoat 5 doesn't have a rock plate, there is plenty of midsole to take abuse. The cushioning compound is soft but, when compressed, firms up quite nicely to reduce any potential issues. The toe cap is rigid and stiff but still creates no issues inside the upper, like blisters or hot spots.
A few models that would provide good traction, as well as comfort, are the Speedgoat 3's and the Speedgoat 2's. The 2's are listed on the sales page and the 3's are our newest rendition of the Speedgoat collection. These offer a Vibram sole which is going to provide the most traction we offer for running on uneven or rocky terrain.

Fit: 9.5 - Loses a bit of lockdown from V3, but again, gains more comfort, especially in the heel area and around the collar. Value: 9.5 - $185 is no doubt high, but this shoe will eat up mountain mileage and vert.
